Tutoring Experience:
Over the past four years I have worked as a tutor for numerous K-6 children, and a volunteer at several local middle schools and high schools for children with special needs. I have extensive experience working with ADD and ADHD children and cooperating directly with parents and teachers on coaching these issues.
I have also worked with several high school students in challenging AP and IB courses. I feel extremely comfortable helping high school students to prepare for the SAT and ACT college entrance exams.
Since I graduated from UCSD in 2010, I have taken the GRE and LSAT graduate school entrance exams, and worked daily with several local families as a part time math, science, and reading tutor.
I have a deep appreciation for helping students of all ages to progress and feel confident in an academic environment. I also strive to help students organize information more effectively so that they can learn and make connections in the course work more efficiently.
I am enthusiastic about children and young adults and feel the need to make a personal connection when tutoring, as this always speeds up the learning process and encourages positive attitudes toward scholastic excellence.
My attitude is that tutoring and improving in a subject can always be enjoyable and great experience with the right mind set!
Academic Background:
I graduated from UCSD in 2010 with a B.A. in Political Science with a focus in Quantitative Research Methodology.
I graduated Cum Laude with Distinction due to my completion of my Political Science Honors Thesis, which was centered on statistical data analysis and collection. I have a deep appreciation for math for its ability to solve any puzzle logically and quickly. However, I also feel comfortable tutoring in the humanities, writing based courses, and test preparation.
